The hard work continues on the training ground
Pre-season training can never be described as enjoyable, but it has to be done and this group of Rovers players seem to be doing their best to train with a smile on their face; well at least Mark McChrystal is!
‘Macca’, who last week said that this would be his 13th pre-season, is on the left of the group, with defender Michael Smith tucked in behind him.
Moving along the line we have Lee Brown, who recently signed a new contract, and kitman and defensive coach/kitman Steve Yates is immediately behind him.
Tom Lockyer seems to be easing through this particular run, alongside new signing Lee Mansell who seems to be leading the group.
Tom Parkes and Jake Gosling make up the rest of this particular group who today began their second week of training under the watchful eyes of manager Darrell Clarke and his assistant Marcus Stewart.
We shouldn’t, of course, forget the most experienced member of the squad, goalkeeper Steve Mildenhall who is embarking on his 19th pre-season and still working as hard as ever.
The shot stopper who, along with his defensive colleagues, kept 15 clean sheets last season will be aiming to improve that record this time around.
