Pick up the latest issue of The Pirate
If you are going to the match tonight, why not pick up a copy of our matchday programme, ‘The Pirate’.
The programme for this game is slightly unusual in that it comes with an eight page wraparound.
As you are aware, the original fixture between the clubs, scheduled for New Year’s Day, was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. The expense of producing a completely new programme was prohibitive, so we are reissuing it with the wraparound, which means it is, in effect, a 76 page issue.
As always, manager John Ward pens his own exclusive programme notes and the big interview is with Matt Harrold, while Tom Parkes tells us what he would call his Fantasy Football team.
Our six page history section is a must for those interested in the past and we continue a fascinating series concerning the Supporters Club, which is celebrating its centenary this year, as well as taking a look back at the promotion winning side of 1973/74.
We also have news and views from the current Supporters Club, Young Pirates, Education Department, and the Community Department.
Chairman Nick Higgs and Director Ken Masters are regular contributors to our matchday magazine, as are many supporters, thus giving you a truly eclectic mix of articles to read.
Our youth section is, obviously, a little bit out of date, but it’s the first opportunity we have had to bring you photos from our FA Youth Cup tie last December and we also introduce a new member of the Academy backroom staff, Ashleigh Hopkins.
Take a look, also, at the old photograph reproduced on page 66 and take your chance to win two tickets for a home game of your choice – the old photos we are reproducing in this series continue to generate a fantastic response from our supporters.
Don’t forget to buy your copy!
