PICK UP A COPY OF OUR MATCHDAY PROGRAMME

28 December 2014

Our matchday programme,‘The Pirate’, for the game against Macclesfield Town, contains all the usual news and views and costs just £3.

It’s packed with many features you won’t have seen on our website.

Manager Darrell Clarke pens his own notes, and the subject of this week’s youth profile is Tom Fry.

As it’s the Fourth Day of Christmas, we look back on just a few of the games Rovers have played on this date…can you remember the 5-3 win against Bournemouth back in 1997 or the 3-3 draw at Mansfield in 2005?

The two major player interviews are with Ollie Clarke and Steve Mildenhall, as well as an interview with Tom Lockyer, written by Daniel Jones who spent last week with us on work experience.

The featured player in this issue’s centre spread is Jake Gosling, now the proud holder of six full international caps for Gibraltar.

There’s news from the Supporters Club, Young Pirates, and Helpline, while the Fanzone page gives all of you an opportunity to participate, so if you have a birthday or anniversary or anything else you would like us to mention in the next issue, then please get in touch.

In our history section Stephen Byrne looks back at Rovers in the Victorian era and if you are able to add anything, by way of information or photos to illustrate these articles, please get in touch.

As well as that, the history pages feature season 1988/89 and we also look at programmes from that season as well as a look at what we were listening to back then.

In addition, you can discover what football supporters were reading back in 1969 and fast forward to season 1994/95 as Rovers went on a journey that would eventually lead to Wembley.

There’s an eclectic mix of articles from a wide range of contributors, all of them Rovers supporters, so if you haven’t previously purchased a matchday programme when you’ve come to a game, try it tomorrow – you might be pleasantly surprised!
