Striker joins for three months

Bristol Rovers have today signed Cambridge striker Adam Cunnington on loan.

The 6ft 4in target man will be with Rovers for the next three months.

Manager Darrell Clarke said: “We are very pleased to welcome Adam to Bristol Rovers.

“He is a proven goal scorer at this level, and is a big, strong target man, which is just what we need to link up with the strikers we currently have here.

“We have Adam for three months, and I hope he can hit the ground running for us.”

Adam, 26, began his career in 2005, and after playing for a number of non-league clubs, he signed a two-and-a-half year deal for Dagenham and Redbridge in January 2012.

The powerful forward is proven goalscorer at Conference level, netting 21 league goals for Tamworth during the 2012/13 season – making him the league’s second top goal scorer that year.

In May 2013 he signed for fellow Conference side Cambridge, and made 23 appearances during their promotion season.
