Clarkson, Lockyer, Harrold and Parkes return against Portsmouth
Rovers pay their first visit to Fratton Park since December 1992 this afternoon, hoping to claim all three points against a rejuvenated home side who have won their last three games.
Manager Darrell Clarke makes four changes to his starting lineup which sees Tom Parkes, Tom Lockyer, Matt Harrold and David Clarkson return to the starting lineup at the expense of John-Joe O’Toole, Chris
Beardsley, Steven Gillespie and Alefe Santos.
Woodards plays at right back, Smith on the right of midfield and Clarkson up top with Harrold
On the bench there is a welcome return for Fabian Broghammer, included in the squad for the first time since picking up anterior cruciate ligament and cartilage damage in the pre-season friendly at Hereford.
This is the 27th league meeting between the clubs, with Pompey having won 13, Rovers eight and six ending all square.
Rovers won the last encounter between the sides, at the Memorial Stadium in December 2013 when goals from David Clarkson and Ollie Clarke gave Rovers a 2-0 win.
Rovers will play in their away kit of purple and black striped, black shorts and white socks.
This afternoon’s match referee Mr J Adcock has taken charge of Rovers games on two previous occasions, the 3-2 win against Morecambe on 24th April 2011 and the
3-0 win against Fleetwood Town on 12th January 2011.
