From Windows to Waste, Hampers to Hardware...

Shirt Sponsors over the years
Sponsors names on Rovers shirts first appeared in 1981 with Great Mills' names the first to appear on the famous blue and white quarters.

In 1983 Director Barry Bradshaw landed a major coup as electronics giant Toshiba signed a three year deal to have their logo on the shirts.

Since then many well known local firms have sponsored the shirts, including Peter Carol, Design Windows, Roman Glass, Elite Hampers and the Jelf Group. More recently, in 1999, Cowlin Construction began a ten year stint as main shirt sponsor, the longest running deal to date.

1883 Club Shirt Sponsorship
Sponsorship deals like this provide vital revenue for clubs like Rovers and the recent recession saw clubs finding it increasingly hard to attract big money for shirt sponsorship. In 2009 the club came up with the novel, and highly successful, 1883 Club Shirt Sponsorship Draw, aimed at smaller businesses.

For £1,000 membership, each business was given free entry into a draw to become the home or away shirt sponsor. N'Gaged were the first home shirt winners and have been followed by Smart Computers, McCarthy Waste and Opus Recruitment.

The 2013/14 draw - a Free Hospitality Package for every entrant!
The club hopes that the move to the UWE Stadium will attract a big name sponsor again, hopefully for a long term deal, meanwhile, the 1883 Club is busy recruiting new businesses for the 2013/14 season draw.

For £1,000 their name will go into the hat for one of FIVE major prizes, including the home and away kit shirt sponsor rights for 2013/14, an elevated stadium advertising board, a perimeter advertising board, or a season long matchday programme advert.

As well as a chance to win one of these prizes, every business gets a fabulous Matchday Hospitality Package for 10 people, worth £700 alone!
