Another year for the midfielder

Oliver Norburn has today signed a one-year contract extension with Bristol Rovers.

The midfielder said: “I am delighted. I am glad to have signed another year and be back in training.

“We have to train hard and take all our hard work in to the season.

“I am happy here and I want to kick on with this club and hopefully do well next season. The gaffer has given me a chance and hopefully I can take it this season.”

Ollie spent three months on loan with Rovers during the 2011/12 season and joined us on a permanent basis from Leicester in the summer of 2012.

His Rovers debut came as a substitute in a 5-2 home win against Rotherham United, and his first start was in a 0-3 home defeat at the hands of Port Vale.

Chairman Nick Higgs said: “We saw what Ollie was capable of last year, and that has earnt him a contract extension.

“We look forward to watching his continued development over the next season.”

An interview Ollie will be on Gas Player later today.
