Director to take part in charity walk

Director Ken Masters will be joining Rovers supporters Paul Davis and Kevin Mackenzie, both members of London Gas, and Steve Forbes from Bristol to walk the London Marathon Route to raise money for research into the rare and fatal brain disease CJD (Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease).

There is currently no cure for this disease.

The team will be undertaking the walk on Saturday 27th July 2013, walking from Greenwich Park to The Mall along the 2013 Virgin London Marathon route.

“Julian’s Team” are raising money in memory of Julian Bailey who died of the disease in 2010. Besides being a teacher, musician and also a Bristol Rovers supporter of 50 years, Julian was a marathon runner. 

Ken say’s “I feel a great affinity with Julian, like him a teacher, marathon runner and above all a life-long supporter of Bristol Rovers Football Club. The four of us have been putting in the miles during the hot weather to prepare for the challenge.”
