Bristol Rovers 3
AFC Bournemouth 1
Goals from Aaron Ward-Baptiste, Carlos Barra and Chad Douglas secured another 3-1 win, against Bournemouth, last Saturday.
Alan Walsh really rated his side’s performance, and said; “We limited Bournemouth to very few opportunities in the game, and recorded a well deserved win.
“Bournemouth were a good, physical, side but we played very well and put in one of the best performances I’ve seen since I’ve been here.
“We opened the scoring in the first half following a break down the right and a first time cross from Camen Harvey which found Aaron Ward-Baptiste some 18 yards from goal. Although he had his back to goal, he swivelled and slotted the ball into the far corner for a really good finish.
“At half time I asked the boys to build on their first half performance, but we allowed Bournemouth back into the game and they equalised ten minutes into the second half, hitting us on the counter after one of our attacks broke down on the edge of their area.
“However, heads didn’t drop and we regained the lead through Carlos Barra who netted from close range following an excellent cross from the right by Chad Douglas.
“From that point we dominated proceedings and deserved our third goal, which came from a corner that one of the Bournemouth players got a touch on. The ball reached Louis Ezwele and his strong header dropped to Chad who was on hand to score from six yards."
