ROVERS HAND OVER COMMUNITY SHIELD MONEY

26 April 2013

Players visit the Little Sisters of the Poor

Bristol Rovers players yesterday visited a local care home to deliver a cheque for £2,000.

The players were joined by manager John Ward and Director Barry Bradshaw, at the Little Sisters of the Poor home on Cotham Hill.

They were there to deliver Rovers' share of the Community Shield funding, which is given to every club in the Football League.

Director Barry Bradshaw said: "As a club we pride ourselves as being part of the local community, and we were delighted to be able to give this money to the Little Sisters of the Poor today.

"They do a great job looking after their elderly residents, and they really appreciate the help.

"There were a lot of patients there to meet us, and the players had a good time having a cup of tea with them."
