U-18s clinch title
Bristol Rovers U-18's clinched the Football League Youth Alliance South West title against Exeter City at The Memorial Stadium this morning.
Rovers had a chance to secure top spot on Tuesday but were held to a goalless draw against runners up Oxford United, but now
Rovers are confirmed as champions four days later, after goals from Alefe Santos and a Jamie Lucas brace secured the victory for Alan Walsh's side.
The craft of Alefe Santos and the finishing of Jamie Lucas gave Rovers the half time lead. Santos attacked Exeter at every opportunity down the left and latched on to a defensive mistake, slotting the ball under the body of keeper Pym.
Seven minutes before half time Rovers doubled their lead when a pass found Jamie Lucas's run and the striker showed instinctive finishing, lashing past Pye in goal.

Rovers were running riot, but as so often happens, the goal led to switching off at the back. Two minutes later, a Pope burst down the right channel saw the winger unleash a shot saved brilliantly by keeper Matt Macey but the ball sat up nicely for Matt Jay to
head into the unguarded net to reduce the deficit.
It was obvious, however, Rovers possessed that little bit extra and should have restored the three goal cushion when substitute Ward-Baptiste headed wide from close range. Santos again involved this time down the right, crossing with venom.
Rovers will now turn their attentions to Wednesdays FLYA Cup Final against Carlisle United dreaming of a memorable double.
