Celebrating 125 years of football in the Army
Roy Hodgson and Stuart Pearce will go head to head next month as a team of FA Legends takes on a team from the British Army.
The game on Saturday 18th May at the Madjeski Stadium will be a special day celebrating 125 years of football in the British Army.
England manager, Roy Hodgson, has agreed to manage the squad of selected stars whilst Stuart Pearce, England Under-21 Manager, takes charge of the Army team for the day.
Players due to turn out for the FA side include Matt Le Tissier, Gary Nevill, Jens Lehmann, Gareth Southgate, Paul Merson, Ledley King and Dietmar Hamann
The fixture also forms part of the Football Association's 150th anniversary. Formed in 1863, English football's governing body launched its anniversary year in January and announced a fantastic fixture list of matches and events to excite the nation.
Pre-match entertainment includes the Red Devils Parachute Display Team and the Royal Logistics Corps Band.
Tickets are priced at £12 (£6 for concessions). All proceeds from the match will go to Service charities that promote sporting opportunities for soldiers, including our wounded warriors who play sport as part of their rehabilitation.
The beneficiaries are The Royal British Legion and the Team Army Sports Foundation.
