Get Started With Football
Bristol Rovers Education and Community departments are delighted to announce their new partnership with The Princes Trust.
The Prince’s Trust's ‘Get Started with Football’ Programme is a week-long course here at the Memorial Stadium that aims to give young people the skills and confidence to find work through targeted support and guiding them through several recognised footballing qualifications.
The Get Started with Football programme offers young people the chance to learn coaching skills from professional coaches at Bristol Rovers, gain an FA Junior Football Organisers Award and an FA recognised qualification in First Aid.
Young people will also take part in a tour of the stadium, be introduced to the workings of a football club as a business, receive dietry and nutritional advice before planning, organising and running a small football tournament.
They will also receive three months support after the programme to help them move into education, training or employment.
The Get Started programme supports 16-25 year olds who have struggled at school, been in care, are long-term unemployed or who have been in trouble with the Police.
Adam Tutton the Bristol Rovers Education Manager said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for us to offer local unemployed young people a real chance at a new future, with the support of the Princes Trust we have no doubt this project will be a huge success for all those involved.
"It shows the commitment Bristol Rovers have to improving the lives of those in our community”.
If you are 16-25 and into football but out of work then Get Started with us and achieve your goals.
