It was fantastic to get the first three points under our belt on Saturday with a win at Exeter. We have been threatening for a few weeks now, so it was great to see all the hard work pay off with a well deserved win.
It was probably not the best performance we have put in all season, but the teamed worked hard for one another and dug deep to claim the victory.
Garry Kenneth, Tom Parkes and Neil Etheridge were superb at the back, and both David Clarkson and Eliot Richards responded in perfect style to the introduction of two new strikers to the club.
We now have competition for places all across the park, and that can only be a good thing for the team. We also have Danny Woodards and Shaquille Hunter getting close to their respective returns, so that will only add to our strength in depth.
The away support on Saturday was absolutely fantastic, and I would like to call on you all to help pack the Memorial Stadium this week. We have two home games, and we really need to build on this first win and carry the momentum forward.
I appreciate that one win does not change everything, but we have now gone three matches unbeaten, and a few more victories will really help to push us up the table.
I would like to ask as many of you as possible to get down to the Mem for Wednesday night’s game against Cheltenham and help create an electric atmosphere. If each of you could bring a friend, family member or lapsed season ticket holder, we could pack out the terraces and recapture the fantastic spirit we have been known for creating.
Now is the time to really get behind the team and help us continue our push towards the right end of the table.
