Yeovil 0-3 RoversGoals from Shaquille Hunter, Sam Kamara and Aaron Ward-Baptiste gave our U-18 side a comfortable win over their Yeovil counterparts last Saturday.
Youth Team Manager Alan Walsh had this to say after their second win by the same margin in the space of four days; "It was a good win against what appeared to be a young Yeovil side who dropped off us a little bit, which suited our style of play.
"We played some decent football and kept possession well and controlled the game for almost the entire first half. The only danger to our goal came just before the break when they hit the crossbar with a shot and we found it difficult to clear our lines after the resulting goalmouth scramble.
"By that time, though, we were a goal ahead thanks to a fine effort from Shaquille. He picked up the ball just inside the Yeovil half and went off on a run before cutting inside, going past three defenders, and hitting a shot with the outside of his foot.
"It did appear to take a slight deflection as it flew into the net between the goalkeeper and his near post, but Shaquille showed excellent skill and technique to score what was a very good goal.
"We scored again early in the second half after a good build up that saw Tom Lockyer play the ball into Dominic Thomas. He, in turn, found Sam who hit a shot into the far corner of the net.
"We didn't score our third goal until late in the game. Chad Douglas made a good run down the right and hit a great cross to the back post, finding Alefe Santos. His shot was deflected to Aaron, who sidefooted home.
"It was a comfortable win and very pleasing to score three goals, keep a clean sheet, and play the game in the right manner."
