Exhibition and book signing

A whole host of former Bristol Rovers players, together with Geoff Bradford family members, will be at the Memorial Stadium tomorrow to celebrate the release of a new book entitled Geoff Bradford Bristol Rovers Legend.

The former players and members of Geoff's family will attend the free Geoff Bradford exhibition in the Executive Suite of the Supporters Club between 1pm and 2.30pm.

As well as a book signing session, a DVD will be shown at the exhibition of Rovers in action in the 1950’s, together with a display of Geoff’s framed England shirt which he won In Denmark in October 1955 and his England FA XI shirt from the tour of the West Indies. The exhibition will include Geoff’s medals and his England cap as well as photos, programmes and other memorabilia.

Geoff’s two daughters Lynn Bradford and Nichola Cole will be joined by the following former Rovers players:
Bill Roost and Joss Watling (former team mates)
Harold Jarman, Joe Davis and David Stone
Ray Mabbutt, Bernard Hall Howard Radford and Ian Hamilton

At half time, Bristol Rovers Chairman, Nick Higgs, will present Lynn and Nichola with inscribed Bristol blue glass. Then, authors Mike Jay and Ian Haddrell will present Nick with a signed copy of their new book which retails at £12.99.

In addition to the Geoff Bradford Book, supporters will also be able to purchase a copy of the new Keith Brookman book The Bristol Rovers Archive’ covering the years 1951 – 1981 which was written in collaboration with former club photographer Alan Marshall.

The images will be seen by some supporters for the first time, or for others, seeing them again after a considerable length of time. The book costs £9.99.

Jim Chappell, Chairman, Bristol Rovers Supporters Club, said, “Geoff Bradford was an absolute legend and I know our supporters will be delighted to be given the opportunity to view the many items on display as well as being able to obtain a copy of both Mike and Ian’s book and Keith’s book at the same time.”

Both books are available in the Bristol Rovers Club Shop and in the Bristol Rovers Supporters Shop at 199 Two Mile Hill Road.
