Sad death of a former member of staff

Everyone at Bristol Rovers was saddened to learn of the sudden death of Graham Collins who had, up until a year ago, worked in our youth department on a part time basis.
Graham had always been a Rovers supporter and first joined the youth department in 2002 and remained with us for nine years.
He arrived here to assist Stuart Naughton when he became Centre of Excellence Manager and worked as a scout. He also undertook a number of the administrative duties associated with the running of the youth department.
Although a part time member of staff, he did a great deal of work outside his contracted hours and brought many young players to the club. For them and their parents, he was often the first point of contact, showing them round the facilities and introducing them to the coaching staff.
He was a good friend to so many members of staff and always went out of his way to speak to everyone he came into contact with. A football fanatic, he enjoyed nothing more than seeing the game played in an attractive style and was always delighted when a young player he had brought to the club signed for us.
He will be missed by so many people, staff, players and parents alike and we offer our sincere condolences to his widow Avril and his family and friends at this sad time.
Graham’s funeral is on Monday 20th August at Canford Crematorium at 11.30am.
If anyone would like to send messages of condolence to Avril, then please contact her through Matt Bennett in our youth department.
