Match Preview - Oldham Athletic v Rovers

7 February 2022

Rovers look to carry on the good form from the past six fixtures in our latest mid-week test against Oldham Athletic.

Next up for Rovers is a Tuesday night visit to Boundary Park to take on Oldham Athletic. The Gas drew their previous fixture against Sutton United last Saturday thanks to a late Antony Evans spot-kick. Below is all the need to know info ahead of our clash against the Latics!

Manager's Preview

Last Result Against The Latics

Opposition View

Oldham Athletic was founded 127 years ago and have played their home fixtures at Boundary Park since 1899 where the record attendance stands at 47,671 which came in a FA Cup 4th round tie against Sheffield Wednesday in 1930.

The man in the dugout for Oldham is John Sheridan. Sheridan has been in charge of the Latics since the 22nd of January 2022. This is Sheridan's fourth spell in charge of Oldham with the former Leeds United midfielder previously taking charge of the club from 2006 to 2009, another spell in 2016 and again in 2017.

Form Guide

Oldham currently sit in 23rd place in the Sky Bet League Two standings with 22 points from 27 games so far this season. Last time out, Sheridan's team grabbed what could prove to be a vital three points in their 0-1 away win against bottom of the table, Scunthorpe United with Junior Luamba netting the only goal of the game in the 83rd minute.

Junior Luamba has a knack of popping up with crucial late goals - he did it in stoppage time at Sutton earlier in the season, and again at Scunthorpe last time out - and could be given the chance to show what he can do over 90 minutes on Tuesday evening.

Davis Keillor-Dunn has found the back of the net six times for Oldham in the league this season and is the club's top scorer. Keillor-Dunn has made 24 appearances in the league this season. His last goals came in Oldham's dramatic 5-5 draw with league leaders, Forest Green Rovers in December 2021 where the attacking midfielder scored twice.
