Match Preview: Bristol Rovers vs Blackpool

22 September 2017

Rovers are back in SkyBet League One action following Tuesday's Carabao Cup exit at the hands of Championship side Wolves at Molin

Rovers: Darrell Clarke's men will be looking to correct a run of three consecutive defeats in all competitions but they will be without skipper Tom Lockyer who will miss the game through suspension.

Marcus Stewart's View:

Dangerman - Kyle Vassell

The mobile forward is lying just behind Sean Longstaff in the race to be Blackpool's top scorer this season.

The twenty-five-year-old striker netted ten goals last season which helped Blackpool achieve success at Wembley in the League Two play-off final and has carried his good form into the current season.

So far this campaign the striker has three goals in seven outings, scoring twice in last Saturday's 3-1 victory over Oxford. Two of Vassell's goals have come from outside the penalty area, with Blackpool scoring nine goals already this season from outside the box.

Last Time Out: You have to go back to the 1999/2000 season to find a game between these two sides and on that occasion, Blackpool ran out 2-1 winners.

Tickets: Supporters can Pay on the Day for this weekend's game with Blackpool.
