Match Preview: Fleetwood Town (H)

We take a quick look at Saturday's opponents, Fleetwood Town.

25 August 2017

We take a quick look at tomorrow's opponents Fleetwood Town.

Rovers entertain one of League One's unbeaten sides in Fleetwood Town this weekend following an impressive Carabao Cup win at Fulham midweek.

Rovers: Darrell Clarke's men will be looking to pick up their first home three points after registering their first three points of the season at Bury last weekend.

Team News: Rovers have a full squad to pick from.

Marcus Stewart's View: ”We know what Fleetwood have to offer, they've picked up maximum points in their League One games so far this season and haven't even conceded a goal so far.

"They pose a different threat to Fulham, they're going to be more physical so we will have to be ready for that.

"After the manner of defeat against Peterborough we owe our supporters a performance at the Mem and we're hoping that's this weekend."

Opposition: Fleetwood Town have made a fantastic start to the 2017/18 campaign winning all three of their league fixtures so far. Uwe Rosler's men have secured wins against Rotherham, Northampton Town and AFC Wimbledon without conceding a single goal.

Dangerman - Devante Cole: Devante Cole (pictured above) joined Fleetwood Town in January 2016 for an undisclosed fee from Bradford City and has been in blistering form this season scoring three goals in his three league outings.

Cole joined Manchester City at the age of seven, and a decade later in 2013, he had his first involvement with the first team as he was selected to go on to their 2013/14 pre-season tour in South Africa.

In August 2015, he moved to Bradford City after being released by the Citizens. He scored on his debut in their 1-0 win against Port Vale.

The striker then moved to Fleetwood and scored 10 goals in his first 60 starts. Cole has also played for England 17 times from the under-16 to under-19 level, scoring seven goals.

Last Time Out: Last season, goals from Ashley Hunter, Cian Bolger and David Ball wrapped up all three points for Uwe Rosler's men at Highbury back in January with Billy Bodin netting a consolation in a 3-1 defeat.

Tickets: Supporters will be able to purchase tickets on the day at the Memorial Stadium.
