Stuart became Rovers fifth summer signing when he became the second former Salisbury City player to link up with his former boss, Darrell Clarke, in June 2014.
An energetic, box to box midfielder who is popular with supporters, he made 37 appearances in all competitions for the Whites.
He began his career with Luton Town and on leaving the Hatters he played for Cambridge City, Bedford Town, Dunstable Town and Arlesey Town as well as Salisbury.
Stuart made his Rovers debut on the opening day of the 2014/15 season in a 0-0 draw against Grimsby Town and scored his first goal for the club in a 3-2 win at Lincoln on 13th September.
A whole hearted player who quickly established himself as a crowd favourite, his season ended prematurely when he was injured at Gateshead in February 2015.
However he signed a new contract in the summer of 2015 and made 34 appearances, in all competitions, in his first season as a Football League player.
