A graduate of our Centre of Excellence, Lamar was told in October 2009 that he would be given a scholarship in the summer of 2010.
At that time he had stepped up to our U-18 squad, having scored regularly for the
U-16's, and had shown that he could handle playing with, and against, players up to two years older than himself.
He was a prolific goalscorer at U-16 level and scored 52 goals in season 2008/09.
He is quick and skilful and shows no fear when playing, as demonstrated in a brief cameo appearance against West Bromwich Albion in a pre season friendly in the summer of 2009.
He was an unused substitute in our final home game of the 2009/10 season, and although still a scholar, he was handed the number 28 shirt for last season.
Lamar has since signed his first pro contract for the club and made his first team debut, as a late second half substitute, at Southampton last season.
