Ben played a part in our pre season programme in the summer of 2009, and scored in the opening friendly fixture, against Torquay United.
His form was such that he was included in the squads for the opening games of the campaign and he made his senior debut when going on as a second half substitute in the Carling Cup tie against Aldershot Town on 11th August.
Ben made his first league appearance for the club when going on as a substitute in our game against Wycombe Wanderers in August 2009.
His first start in a league game came against Carlisle United, in a 3-2 win at the Memorial Stadium, on 14th November 2009.
He enjoyed a very successful first season as a professional footballer, making six league starts and 17 appearances from the bench and he was rewarded with a new two year contract before the season's end.
Last season he made 17 league appearances and scored his first senior goal, in a Johnstone's Paint Trophy win against Wycombe Wanderers.
A left sided midfielder, Ben has the ability to deliver telling crosses into the opposition area, holds the ball up well and works hard on behalf of the team.
