Charlie joined the club straight from our Centre of Excellence, in the summer of 2007, and signed a two year contract on his 17th birthday after making an impression in a handful of reserve team games during 2006/07.
He played both reserve and youth team football for much of the 2007/08 season, but was rewarded for some impressive displays when he made his first team debut as a second half substitute against Brighton in our last home game of that season. He was also on the bench, at Leyton Orient, for the final game of the campaign.
During his time with the club, he has spent time on loan at Mangotsfield United and Chippenham Town.
A combative midfielder who likes to get forward, he has a tendency to make things happen and likes to be involved in the game. He likes to get in the box and get on the end of things and has a strong physical presence.
Although he didn't make a first team appearance in 2009/10, Charlie was on the bench on a number of occasions and signed a new contract which will see him remain at the club until the end of the current season.
Charlie spent time on loan with Newport County, Weymouth and Bath City last season, but on his return to the club he made his first league start when he appeared against Colchester in the final game of the season.
