Jeff signed for Rovers in the summer of 2008, having previously played for Lincoln City and Crystal Palace.
He first joined Rovers, on loan, in March 2008 but was injured in a reserve team match before he could make his first team debut. The ankle injury kept him out of action for the remainder of the season but he returned to the memorial Stadium to sign a three year contract.
Jeff began his career at Larne, Northern Ireland, and signed for Lincoln in the summer of 2005 and appeared in 22 league games and both legs of the semi final play offs during his first season at Sincil Bank.
He was a regular in the side in 2006/07as Lincoln again reached the play offs, only to lose to Rovers, though he did score in both legs of the semi final.
In the summer of 2007 he joined Crystal Palace. However when Peter Taylor, the manager who took him to Selhurst Park, was replaced by Neil Warnock, Jeff found first team opportunities hard to come by and went on loan to Peterborough United in November 2007 and made seven league appearances whilst at London Road.
There were two more appearances for Palace on his return to Selhurst Park before his initial loan move to the Memorial Stadium.
A left sided player, equally at home at left back or on the left of midfield, Jeff is a very skilful player and has the pace and energy to get up and down the flanks, he will undoubtedly be an asset to a Rovers side hoping to improve on last season's 16th place finish.
Jeff has two full caps for Northern Ireland to his name and, in addition, has seven U-21 caps for his country. He was also capped at U-19 level.
Jeff made his debut for the club on the opening day of the current season, against Carlisle.
