Darryl joined Rovers in the summer of 2008, in a three year deal, for a six figure fee.
He was a youth team player with Glasgow Rangers and made three appearances for the Scottish giants, against Dundee United, in the Scottish premier League, Forfar in the Scottish League Cup, and Panathinaikos in the European Cup.
He spent time on loan with Brechin City before a permanent move to Falkirk in June 2004 and in his first season with them he finished top scorer in the Scottish First Division as his side gained promotion to the Premier League.
A good start to the 2005/06 season, he signed for Hull City in January 2006 and, in a gesture to Falkirk, he volunteered to forgo his contractual share of the transfer fee as a contribution to assist the club's youth and community development schemes.
First team opportunities were limited at Hull, and he joined Hartlepool United, on loan, in November 2006 and then spent the final two months of the 2006/07 campaign on loan at Swansea.
In July 2007 he made the move to the Liberty Stadium a permanent one, signing a three year deal. Although he appeared in 20 league games for the Swans, as they clinched the League One Title, eight of those were from the bench and he signed for Rovers with the aim of playing regular first team football.
A proven goalscorer with a great deal of pace, there's no doubt he will be looking to recapture the form that has seen him win two Scottish 'B' caps and eight U-21 caps.
Darryl made his debut for the club on the opening day of the current season, against Carlisle.
