Chris Dickson made a dream start to his Rovers career, scoring two first half goals.
With Aaron Lescott adding a third before the break, the large contingent of Rovers fans were ecstatic at the half time whistle.
Rovers went ahead with their first attempt on goal. Jo Kuffour played the ball over the top of the home defence and Dickson ran in behind to volley the ball into the bottom corner from six yards.
Lescott blocked an angled drive from Steve Kabba as the Bees looked for a swift response, but Rovers added a second goal on 27 minutes.
A challenge by Chris Lines saw the ball ricochet over the bar off of Charlie MacDonald and Mikkel Andersen made a comfortable save from a weak Cleveland Taylor header before Rovers added a second goal.
Carl Regan played a long ball down the left, where Dickson again got in behind the defence and this time he lifted the ball over keeper Lewis Price into an empty net.
Andersen made a superb block from MacDonald before the third goal arrived after a move started by Byron Anthony. He found Jeff Hughes who picked out Lescott's overlapping run. The defender squared the ball to Dickson and continued his run before taking a return pass in his stride and rolling the ball past Price.
Dickson and Danny Coles almost added further goals in time added on, while Mikkel Andersen, who had gathered everything with aplomb during the half, dived full length to beat away a cross from the left.
Having made two substitutions in time added on in the first half, Brentford took the game to Rovers from the start of the second period.
However Dickson could have added a further goal for Rovers but rolled a shot wide of the mark after racing, with the ball, from inside his half, to the opposition penalty area.
Andersen then made an easy save from Taylor and the keeper received a yellow card after bringing down Kabba outside the area as he bore down on goal.
MacDonald then gave the home fans hope with a cracking 20 yard volley that beat the keeper and nestled in the back of the net.
A spell of Rovers pressure saw Kuffour's shot blocked and Coles fire over the bar, while Mark Wright hit a left foot effort wide of the target.
Andersen saved well from Sam saunders, while a long range effort flew over the bar and Taylor saw two efforts drift wide of the mark.
Mark Philliips volleyed over before the ninety minutes, but a professional defensive display saw Rovers comfortably see the game out to record their third away win of the season.
