The Dunford Family would like to thank everyone who sent cards, letters and floral tributes on their sad loss of Denis.

Geoff Dunford said " We would also like to thank all those who attended Dad's funeral on Wednesday. It was amazing to see nearly 500 people in St John's church, especially those who had made a long journey to be there."

Bristol Rovers first team and youth teams were present, along with all the football club staff and manager Mark McGhee.

Ex managers, Ian Holloway, John Ward, Gerry Francis, Paul Trollope and Lennie Lawrence were also present with many ex players, including Geoff Twentyman, Steve White and Gary Penrice.

There were also representatives from many other Football league clubs, including Yeovil Town and Bristol City.

The family also received floral tributes from Bristol Rovers FC, Bristol Rovers Youth and Community, Gerry Francis, and very kindly from Peterborough United FC (The Posh)

The Dunford family flora tributes were a blue and white cross, an RAF roundel and a blue and white football.

Geoff said "The family would also like to thank the club for providing a buffet back at the Memorial Stadium after the funeral. I will be writing to all who have sent personal letters
and tributes. God bless you. Dad would have been humbled by it all."

Donations can still be made to "Cancer Research UK" in Pirate Leisure at The Mem. There will also be a "Book of Condolences" for fans to sign.
