More than half of the places for Bristol Rovers' annual golf day have now been sold.

The popular event will take place at the St Pierre Golf and Country Club in Chepstow and is open to corporate sponsors and businesses, as well as Rovers supporters and keen golfers.

This year's event will be held on Wednesday, October 6th and places are selling fast.

Each team will be made up of three people, who will then be allocated a rovers player or member of team management.

The day will begin with hot drinks and bacon rolls, before a two tee start on the old course.

There will be a number of competitions, including the Longest Drive and Nearest the Pin, as well as team prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.

First prize will be an executive box for 15 people, includng food, for a game of your choice - subject to availability. Second prize will be hospitality for 10 people and third prize will be hospitality for six.

"We are delighted to be hosting a golf day at the St Pierre Golf and Country Club fas it is a brilliant course," Stadium General Manager Ian Holtby told bristolrovers.co.uk.

"We have kept the price down this year because of the current economic climate and places are selling fast With room for just 20 teams, competition for places is going to be high.

"This is fantastic opportunity for Rovers fans to meet the squad and enjoy a good game of golf at the same time."

A full two-course meal with the Rovers squad will follow the day's golf, along with presentations and prizes from sponsor Bristol Blue Glass.

The Bristol Rovers Golf Day costs just £250 (plus VAT) for a team of three, plus one Rovers player/staff.

The draw for Rovers teams will be done shortly before the event. Maximum handicap is 24.
