A fantastic victory against our local rivals Swindon last weekend has given us all a further lift and renewed hope for the rest of the season.
There is still a long way to go, but if we can continue the form that has seen us win four out of our last five games - including victories against three sides in the top six - a play off spot could still be within our grasp.
Every year there is a team that makes a late charge into the play off spots, it was us in 2007, and who is to say it cannot be us again in 2010. Of course we cannot get carried away, we need to take each game as it comes, starting with this weekend's match against Tranmere.
We are delighted that Paul Heffernan has extended his loan until the end of the season. He has given us an extra edge since he joined a month ago, and as well as scoring two excellent goals, he has contributed some good link play, and has slotted into the side with ease.
Unfortunately Paul would not be available for the play off matches as his emergency loan will have run out, but we are hoping his goals and intelligent play will help push us up towards that top six spot.
Last night saw our reserve team bow out of the GFA Cup after being beaten by Bristol City. It was disappointing not to make the final, but our side did well to get this far, and were beaten by a side who had a little too much experience for them.
We have been through difficult periods this season, but thanks to a lot of hard work on the training ground, the introduction of a few new faces and the return to form of a few key players, we have begun to turn things around.
We thank you for your support, which has been vital during this period, and I would like to encourage as many of you as possible to come along to the game against Tranmere on Saturday and see if we can make it five wins out of six.
If everyone brought a friend along to this game, we could create an incredible atmosphere and spur the team on to another quality performance and three more valuable points.
We have started to show what we are capable of over recent games and we need to get behind the team and encourage as many supporters to come along on Saturday to witness what could be an exciting end to the season.
