Bristol Rovers Chairman Nick Higgs said: "We have already staged a very successful Help for Heroes event this season, and we are delighted to be involved again.

"This is a charity very close to the hearts of many of our fans, and we hope that this week of action will help raise lots of money as well as awareness of the great work being done to help our brave troops."

Help for Heroes

Rovers have already shown their support for Help for Heroes this season, and along with the RAF 216 Squadron we raised more than £6,000 for the charity through bucket collections and the auctioning off of signed t-shirts

And during the week of action, Rovers are hosting a range of events designed to produce the maximum coverage and awareness of the charity which helps rehabilitate members of the British Armed Forces injured in the line of duty.

Members of the local Armed Forces have also been invited to attend the game.

Lord Mawhinney, Chairman of The Football League said: "The contribution being made by our armed forces around the world is both outstanding and humbling. As a nation we seldom thank them enough for the sacrifices they make.

"The Football for Heroes week will provide an excellent opportunity for supporters to show their appreciation for the work they do."
