GIRLS KICK OFF

The local leg of the Football League U13 Girls Cup took place on Friday 4th December up at Filton WISE.
It was a healthy competition with some great football being played by all the girls involved, and some cracking goals being scored.
Eight local secondary schools played in the competition, playing three games in each league before the semis and final.

Semi Finals
Brimsham Green 0-1 Castle (aet and golden goal)
The Grange 4-1 Fairfield
Final
Castle 2-1 The Grange (aet)

In the final it was 1-1 at full time and it took extra time to find a winner. Fortunately (for Castle) a long range shot squeezed under the keeper and they had won the competition.
Congratulations to The Castle School who will now go on to represent Rovers in the South West area finals in February.
