JOIN ROVERS' MARATHON RUNNERS
Director Ken Masters is still looking for Bristol Rovers fans to join him to run the Bristol Half Marathon and raise money for charity.
Ken, who is a keen runner, has already persuaded a number of fans and staff to run with him, and is looking for more fans to join them.
The Bristol Half takes place on Sunday, September 6th, with an estimated 20,000 people expected to take part.
Ken hopes the Rovers team will be able to split the money they raise between two good causes, the Bristol Rovers Football in the Community Department - which is a registered charity (no. 1088148), and a local children's charity.
Ken said: "Bristol Rovers are keen to support the event this year, as we have in the past. A good number of Rovers supporters, and staff, have taken part in recent years and a tidy sum has been raised for local charities and schools in the community.
"First team coach Paul Trollope and goalkeeper Steve Phillips took part in 2007. Trolls turned in a really decent performance in completing the run in under one hour and 45 minutes. I will be talking to him about taking part again this year.
"Former skipper Vaughn Jones is another regular entry. It would be good to see a number of former players turn out in September."
Ken will be contacting those who have already pledged to join him in the next couple of weeks.
Entry for the race is now open, and you can get a form by contacting Ken, or if you want to join yourself simply visit the Half Marathon websiteand then drop an email to kirstypugh@bristolrovers.co.uk to let us know you would like to be part of the Rovers team.
