COMMUNITY DEPARTMENT EARNS BRONZE AWARD

We are very pleased to announce that Bristol Rovers Football in the Community has been awarded Bronze status by The Football League Trust for our work in the Community.
On the 14th April our staff were assessed by John Relish, the South West Regional Manager of The Football League Trust, who found that our Community work met the required standard for a Bronze award.
Community Officer Peter Aitken had this to say upon hearing the news: "I am delighted that we have achieved the Bronze Accreditation, and that all the hard work behind the scenes in putting this together has been recognised by the Football League Trust. We will now be looking to push on and earn the Silver Accreditation so that we can further enhance our Community activities."
In addition to fulfilling the Trust's Minimum Charter standard, the club's Community staff demonstrated the following:
* A coach to child ratio of 1:16 for all activity,
* All activity led by an FA Level 2 qualified coach or above,
* Publish a business plan with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs),
* Deliver to at least one of the Trust's 4 main themes of Health, Education, Social Inclusion and Sports Participation,
* Establish working partnerships with external agencies e.g. local authorities, and
* Acquired charitable status by the end of 2009.
Football League Trust General Manager Dave Edmundson said: "We have been extremely impressed with the standard of community work across the country.
"We are sure the investment will benefit the many thousands who participate in Community activities with Football League clubs."
