TROLLS FRUSTRATED WITH DRAW
Paul Trollope felt his side should have won this afternoon's West Country derby against Swindon Town.
Rovers dominated an entertaining match against the Robins, but we stung by two set-piece goals in an afternoon full of high drama.
It needed a stoppage time equaliser for Chris Lines to prevent the visitors stealing an unlikely victory, but despite the point, Paul was still disappointed.
"It was an eventful derby, as they usually are," Paul told bristolrovers.co.uk, "It would have been a good spectacle for the neutral I'm sure, with some good goals and an action packed finale.
"We dominated in large spells and produced some very good football, and we're understandably disappointed to have only picked up a point.
"They scored two goals from set-pieces, which we're not happy with, and I think at 2-1 down the crowd knew it was unjust.
"We kept going and creating numerous chances, and in the end we got a goal that we more than deserved. That said though, it's still two points dropped for us.
"In think what this game shows is that we have to make sure we're the whole package if we want to progress into the top half of the division, which is where we feel we should be."
The game ended on a sour note with the referee Kevin Stroud sending off Lines for celebrating his equaliser.
"I've never talked about referees, and I don't want to start now," said Paul, "But all I would say is that it's the last minute of the game, it's the last kick, and the young lad has just scored an equaliser.
"What does the referee expect his reaction to be? By the letter of the law there is no argument, but nobody likes to see players sent off for incidents like that."
Lines will now be suspended for Tuesday night's visit to Hartlepool United.
