A GOOD TEST FOR US - TROLLS
Paul Trollope says the next two home games will be the best test yet to find out how much progress his team have made.
The Pirates take on Oldham Athletic this evening, and then Southend United on Saturday afternoon.
Both clubs currently occupy play-off positions, and Paul believes the outcomes against them will be good indicators of how his players are performing.
"We were pleased to keep the unbeaten run going on Saturday, and now we're looking to build on that," Paul told bristolrovers.co.uk, "Oldham have been up there all year, they've assembled a good squad with some good attacking players, and we know we're going to have to be right defensively first and foremost.
"But we can take a lot from the last few weeks, and although this will be a tough challenge, it's a game we're looking to win.
"We know all about them, and I'm sure they will know all about us, and I think for both clubs it's a game to look forward to. You always want to come up against teams that are doing well, because it gives you a good chance to see where you are.
"After Oldham, and then Southend on Saturday, we'll have played seven home games and seven away games and it will be a good time to look back and see how we've done. We've done ok up until now, aside from the ten-day spell when we lost three league games, but we're always looking to improve and to make progress.
"It's important we start well, get out of the traps quickly, and try to score the first goal. You can't always play pure football from the first kick, but it's important to impose yourself on the oppoisition and that's what we'll be looking to do tonight."
