Paul Trollope said he felt Rovers should have won this afternoon's League One game against Huddersfield Town.

The first team coach watched as his side trailed at half-time at the Galpharm Stadium, before coming back to take what was a deserved point.

"The club's record at Huddersfield hasn't been good, that was pointed out to us before the game, but we went into the game looking for the win," Paul told bristolrovers.co.uk.

"We would probably have taken a point before the match, but after the chances we created we're a little disappointed because we could have won it.

"Their goalkeeper made some good saves, whereas Steve Phillips had little to do, their goal was probably their only shot on goal.

"It was a bit of a slow start from us, a few poor early decisions led to pressure and their goal, but we responded well. To go 1-0 down isn't easy away from home, but the lads showed strong minds and strong bodies to get back into it.

"We gradually turned the corner, but on another day we could have been leading as early as half-time. In that respect it was similar to the game at Leeds, but on that day we took our first half chances, whereas today we didn't.

"We stayed patient though, and at half-time we said to keep working away and we were confident the breakthrough would come, and it did."

Today's second half equaliser was scored by Rickie Lambert, whose tally for the season has now reached ten goals.

"It's a fantastic achievement to be on ten goals at this stage," said Paul, "His threat and overall general play is of a very high standard, and it was a very good finish for his goal.

"Darryl Duffy's also a little bit frustrated now, his overall play is very good, but he'll be disappointed not to have scored today. But we're pleased with the influence he has on the game, and the work he gets through."

Next up for Rovers is a home game against Oldham Athletic on Tuesday evening, a match Paul is already focusing on.

"We came looking for three points, we didn't get that, but we'll take the point and move on to the next challenge," he said, "We've got two games in a week, starting with an Oldham side in good form, and it's a period of time that we need to go into positively and look to get some good results."
