Craig Hinton was pleased to play his part in Rovers' third win of the 2008/09 season this weekend.

The defender fired home a second half winner against Leyton Orient to elevate the club into the top half of the League One table.

It was the first time Rovers have picked up consecutive league wins since the middle of last season, and Craig knows how important the three points could be.

"It's nice to get on the scoresheet and for us to get the three points," Craig told bristolrovers.co.uk, "I think that's a massive win for us, it's the first time we've recorded back-to-back wins in a while and it's moved us right up there now to 11th place.

"With the start to the season we've had, that was the boost we needed. We've got a tough game against Huddersfield coming up next weekend, and then another one against Oldham at home, but hopefully we can keep it going, stay solid, and continue to create chances."

The win over Orient wasn't straightforward, and saw Rovers have to fight back from a goal down.

"The first half we dominated in terms of possession, and we felt confident we could win the game," said Craig, "But we started the second half sloppily, and they scored one of those fortunate goals you can't do much about.

"Despite that though we were confident we could still get back into the game, and thankfully we did."

Craig's winning strike came 20 minutes from time, after a Stuart Campbell ball into the box had been headed down into his path.

"I don't remember too much about it," he said, "I think I had a touch with my left foot, and then I just smashed it in.

"I was a bit knackered after the long run celebrating, and I think if it happens against I'll have to cut that out!"
