HUGHES SAYS HE'S DUE A GOAL
Jeff Hughes is hoping to return to return to the scoresheet for this weekend's game against Leyton Orient.
The winger feels he's missed one or two simple chances of late, and wants to put that right on Saturday afternoon.
"I've missed a few sitters so I'm due one," Jeff told bristolrovers.co.uk, "I should have scored against Crewe, so I feel it's about time"
Jeff is hoping that the back-to-back clean sheets in the last two games means the team can put together the start of a winning run.
"We'll always create chances as a team, so once the defence was sorted I thought we'd do well," he said, "Darryl's had a few sniffs, and Lambo's always going to get his big head on the end of crosses, so we're a team that can score that's for sure.
"After the clean sheet against Crewe we knew that if we could get the first goal against Colchester we could win the game, and we did. We were confident, and we got the result we wanted."
As well as defending better, Jeff says speaking more on the pitch was something the management demanded.
"We've been too quiet on the pitch of late, and Trolls has wanted more communication from us all," he said, "I think he got that from us on Saturday, and with our improved defensive display, I think it made a very big difference."
