Stuart Campbell says the players are determined to put right some recent poor results when Crewe Alexandra visit the Memorial Stadium tomorrow afternoon.

Rovers have only won one game all season, and prior to last Saturday's draw at Yeovil Town had lost every league and cup match in September.

Stuart acknowledges that areas of the team's play need to be better, but he's in confident mood ahead of the weekend clash.

"First and foremost, we need to win the game," Stuart told bristolrovers.co.uk, "If we get into a position during the match when we're ahead, then hopefully the performance will follow, but the main thing is the three points.

"Anyone that has seen us so far this season will know that we're not a million miles away from being a good team, and stringing a run of wins together.

"We've taken criticism for our results, and it's well documented where our problems are. All this week we've been working hard on addressing them, and we have to show that on Saturday."

Stuart missed a day of training at the start of the week through illness, although he says he'll be fine for tomorrow.

"I missed training one day this week, but it was just a precaution really," he said, "I feel fine now, and I'll be ok for the weekend.

"Sometimes all it takes is for one person to have a bug and it spreads like wildfire, and I think a few of the other lads have got something now as well. But it wasn't me!"

Rovers go into the game buoyed by the 2-2 draw at Huish Park, while Crewe must pick themselves up following their midweek defeat at Anfield in the Carling Cup.

"My experience of big games like that is that they can take a lot out of your mentally and physically, so we'll be looking to capitalise on that" said Stuart.

"But we have to focus on ourselves first. Last week it would have been easy for us to have put our heads down after going one down and then 2-1 down, but we kept going and didn't give up.

"Credit to the lads because we dug in together and made quite a few chances and if we do that again and take the lead this weekend, we're confident we can take the points."
