PIPE EXPECTING TROLLS TO ACT
David Pipe says Rovers must stop giving themselves mountains to climb, if they are to succeed in League One this season.
The midfielder-come-defender admits results have left players feeling frustrated over recent weeks, and he says things need to improve immediately.
"Without swearing, the word is frustration," David told bristolrovers.co.uk, "We let in silly goals again at the weekend, and gave ourselves a mountain to climb. It's not good enough really.
"Against Peterborough we let in goals from open play, and against Walsall it was from set-pieces. When you don't get basics right like marking your man, the other team are going to score.
"You've got to take positives from every game, but you don't want to be taking more negatives than positives which is what we seem to be doing at the moment."
One area David says players need to improve on, is starting matches more aggressively.
"I think on Saturday nerves throughout the team played a part," he said, "We weren't positive enough in our tackles in the first 15 minutes, and we started too quietly.
"It's easy to rally when you're two goals down, but you've got to have it within you to do it before that.
"Recent results haven't been good enough, and hopefully the competition we've got for places here will be good for everyone.
"I'm sure Trolls will assess things, and do what needs to be done."
