CHANGES ARE ON THE WAY - TROLLS
Paul Trollope has promised personnel changes in his team following today's 3-1 loss against Walsall.
The first team coach was once again left cursing his side's poor defending, as the Saddlers romped to a fairly comfortable win at the Memorial Stadium.
Byron Anthony will be suspended for Tuesday night's game against Cheltenham Town, which means Paul must make at least one change to his line-up for the Whaddon Road clash.
"We are happy with a lot of aspects of our play, but the league position doesn't lie," Paul told bristolrovers.co.uk, "We need to be able to cope with teams better defensively to give us a chance in games.
"The stats will say that over the last few years that we have conceded very few goals, but now that area of our game is costing us results.
"We worked in training on picking people up, marking and defending properly, and we were confident ahead of today's game that we would be right.
"Sometimes at times like this you have to expose individuals, because it's costing the whole team. Individuals aren't doing their jobs, and there will be changes in personnel on Tuesday night.
"In the second half today there were a few positives and there was some good play, but we gave ourselves a mountain to climb by being so poor in the first half.
"The manner of the goals we're conceding is a major concern, and all too often recently we have been the architects of our own downfall."
Paul has Danny Coles and Ryan Green back in training, with Joe Jacobson not far away as well.
"We've got defenders missing, and we've got players in the side who aren't playing in their first choice positions," he said.
"We thought about bringing players back today, but we didn't because we want to make sure players are right when they come back.
"We can't keep defending like that, we need to improve, and there will be changes for Tuesday."
