TIME TO BOUNCE BACK - TROLLS
Paul Trollope says his players must show that Tuesday night's 3-0 loss at AFC Bournemouth was nothing more than a blip.
The first team coach described the midweek performance as the worst since a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Chester City back in September 2006.
The Pirates travel to take on Peterborough United tomorrow lunchtime, looking for three points in front of a national television audience.
"I have to look back a long time to find a performance of the same level as we saw in the week at Bournemouth," Paul told bristolrovers.co.uk, "I think Chester away at the start of the promotion year was the last time we were that bad.
"As far as I am concerned it will be a blip, and it's a result we need to bounce back from very quickly."
Peterborough secured promotion to League One last season, and under Darren Ferguson are one of the sides tipped to do well this year.
"We will go there with no fear whatsoever, we are confident we can contain them but we will need to do our jobs individually and more importantly as a team," said Paul.
"They did well to come out of League Two last season, Darren has done a good job there, and over the summer he's made a number of shrewd signings that have strengthened their team.
"He's gelled the players together well, and they have aspirations of going through the division. They're probably not too pleased with the start they've made, and they'll be looking to beat us.
"It's live on Sky, and it's a great chance for us to bounce back from Tuesday. Our league position at the moment is ok, and a win this weekend will make it very decent.
"We feel Peterborough have weaknesses that we can exploit, but we have to be right defensively as a back four and as a team, because they have some very dangerous attacking threats.
"We need to impose our game, we need to pass the ball, and we need to retain possession. That is what we are about, and if we do that then we're confident we can come away with a result."
