Paul Trollope says Rovers will need to be better defensively this weekend, if they are to take anything away from Elland Road.

The Pirates take on Leeds United looking to build on last Saturday's 6-1 mauling of Hereford United.

Rovers are currently in eighth place in League One, and another three points against Leeds would propel the club even further up the table.

"Last Saturday showed us what can happen in a game when we take the chances we create," Paul told bristolrovers.co.uk.

"But against Leeds we are going to need to be better defensively, because they have more quality and better individuals than Hereford and they will punish us if we do not improve in that area.

"I watched Leeds in the week against Crystal Palace and they were very impressive. They passed the ball, and their front two were a real threat all game, and we are going to have to be right on it to stop those two.

"The lads are fully aware of what to expect, from defence to attack, and we will need a real intense performance if we are to get the better of Leeds.

"There will be a big crowd there, and they will want to see their first home win in the league. But we're going there to show what we're about, and to hopefully come away with the points."
