Craig Disley says Saturday 6-1 demolition of Hereford United had been a long time coming.

The midfielder believes the Pirates have threatened to take teams apart on a number of previous occasions, only for squandered chances to prove costly.

"I think it's something we've threatened for a long time and on Saturday everything just clicked into place," Craig told bristolrovers.co.uk.

"We started to stick our chances away and that's what we are capable of. Last year we threatened to do that on a number of occasions but didn't manage to take our chances, so it's nice to be able to enjoy a match and be comfortable in a match.

"It was a good performance, a good result and something which I think will please the fans."

All six goals had an air of quality about them, and Craig admits it was difficult to pick a definitive best.

"They were all different kinds of goal so I think it would be hard, and a little bit difficult, to say which was the best," he said.

"But the standard was great and just shows the ability we have in the team, and long may that continue. Jeff Hughes and Chris Lines have chipped in with a goal apiece from midfield so I think we have enough fire power this year for goals to come from all over.

"Having that takes the pressure off the front boys and as long as people are scoring goals, and we are winning games, then I'm not too fussed about being on the scoresheet myself.

"On Saturday I was told at half-time just to chill out and keep my shape and that there was no need to go chasing around at 3-0 up. I enjoyed the game, tried to get to the ball a bit more and keep the team going.

"I've not scored yet but hopefully the goals will start coming soon, as it's been four games now. But I'll give it a couple more games before I start getting worried!"

Next up for Rovers is a trip to Leeds United on Saturday, a game Craig is looking forward to.

"They are hot favourites to go straight up this year," he said, "They have had a similar start to ourselves and I don't think we need go there with any fear.

"At the end of the day it's just 11 against 11. It's going to be tough but we are going there full of confidence and looking forward to it.

"If last year is anything to go by, the atmosphere inside Elland Road will be hostile and that's the way they will like it, but we think we are a match for anyone in this division.

"It's a tough schedule coming up, and something that's happened to us a lot over recent times. Three away games on the bounce, and all tough games, but if our away form is anything like it has been over the last couple of years then it will spur us on."
