Paul Trollope says Rovers must make sure they take three points from Hereford United this weekend.

The first team coach admits a win is overdue for his side, after a start to the 2008/09 campaign that has seen just one point from a possible six.

Hereford meanwhile have lost both of their opening matches, and Paul says the Pirates must make the most of fixtures such as this.

"It's a game we're looking to win, it's a game we're confident we can win, and it's a game we've got to make sure we do win," Paul told bristolrovers.co.uk.

"We had bits and pieces of good play against Carlisle, Watford and especially the second half at Brighton, and now the aim is to put that all together.

"Sometimes the opposition dictates what you can and can't do at times, but we are at home this week and the onus is on us to go out and play, and we will do that. We want to pass the ball quickly, play with width, and try to hurt Hereford with our strengths."

Hereford have progressed through two tiers of English football in recent years, and boss Graham Turner has been at the helm throughout.

"Graham is a good manager, he's taken them up through two divisions, and they have some very good players," he said, "They are a settled club with a settled way of playing, which is good for them in terms of momentum, given the recent success they've had.

"They will be disappointed to have lost their opening two league games, and this weekend they will be looking to take the points.

"But we're looking for our first win of the season, and we will have no negative thoughts at all. It's about us producing the standard of football we know we can, and going out and winning the game."

Although Paul expects a difficult game, he says it's important for his players to show the right attitude.

"We're ready for them," he said, "We know they will be organised and will try to pass the ball, but it's up to us to make sure we impose our game.

"We've got to pass the ball well on a good surface, and make sure we defend right, and take our chances when they come along."
