Rovers' Johnstone's Paint Trophy first round clash against AFC Bournemouth will take place on Tuesday 2nd September.
The tie at the Fitness First Stadium will kick-off at 7:45pm.
The Pirates were the second team to be selected in the 'Southern Section - West'.
32 of the 48 League One and League Two clubs will partake in the opening round, with the remaining 16 sides having been awarded byes last week.
The competition was divided into four regions, with Rovers assured of a tie against a fellow 'Southern Section - West' outfit in the first stage.
