DUFFY READY TO DELIVER
Darryl Duffy is hoping this weekend's trip to Brighton & Hove Albion can deliver his first goal for Bristol Rovers.
The summer signing has yet to see his name on the scoresheet for his new club, but he says he's not too worried about his goal tally after just two games.
"Scoring on my debut isn't something I'm notorious for," Darryl told bristolrovers.co.uk, "I did have four or five chances against Carlisle that were blocked, but I'm not too worried after just one league and cup game.
"Against Watford we didn't manage to create too much in front of goal, and although we were disappointed to lose we have to remember that they are a very good side.
"There's no panic now, obviously I hope to score on Saturday, but this is only the second weekend of the season and there are 44 matches to go after.
"I still need to catch up on my fitness a bit. I missed a couple of games in pre-season, and about ten days of training.
"It's something I can't rush, it will just happen, and as the matches go by I'll get sharper and the match fitness will come naturally."
Darryl is set to partner Rickie Lambert up front for the third match in a row this weekend.
"The more games we play together, the better the understanding we have," he said, "We're learning how we both work, and as the games go by I think people will see us linking up and playing better as a pair.
"As a team we know we need to improve all over the pitch, individually and as a group. We will create chances, and when they come along it's up to Rickie and myself to make sure we take them."
