ADO DEN HAAG HEAD TO THE MEM
Rovers welcome Dutch side ADO Den Haag to the Memorial Stadium on Saturday afternoon, for a 3:00pm pre-season friendly.
Den Haag play their home games in The Hague, the third biggest city in Holland, perhaps famous more for its role in international and global affairs than football.
Den Haag won the Dutch title in 1942 and 1943 and reached the quarter-finals of the European Cup Winners Cup in 1976 when they lost on away goals to English side West Ham United.
Supporters of the Dutch side have strong links with Welsh side Swansea City, and Flags of the respective clubs are often flown at the matches of the other club.
Both clubs regularly hold pre-season friendly matches, and Den Haag will travel to South Wales next week for the latest such fixture.
After several seasons outside the top flight, Den Haag returned to the Eredivisie in 2003 only to be relegated in 2007.
But after finishing 6th last season the team won promotion back to the top division via the play-offs.
Den Haag play in yellow and green and draw crowds of around 6,800 people for home fixtures.
