SO FAR SO GOOD FOR STEVE
Steve Elliott says the players can build on Wednesday night's friendly victory over Rotherham United.
Rovers returned from the Don Valley Stadium with a 1-0 win after a solid display against the League Two outfit.
Den Haag visit the Memorial Stadium tomorrow afternoon for the final first team warm-up, and Steve says so far things have been building up to the season well.
"We've had a good pre-season so far," Steve told bristolrovers.co.uk, "We had a good tour away, we've all worked hard, the lads are all looking fit, and we're raring to go.
"We've been playing well in pre-season, and Wednesday's game is the kind of performance we're looking to produce away from home over the season.
"We were solid at the back, and we scored on the counter, and hopefully the away games we face in League One will be similar to that.
"Rotherham were a decent side, but I thought we passed the ball well, and in the second half especially we stepped up a gear and created some good chances.
"The movement was impressive, and we looked a real threat. They didn't really trouble us, and from a defensive point of view we were solid."
Steve was substituted midway through the game after stretching for a ball and feeling a slight strain in his hamstring area.
"I overstretched for the ball and felt a bit of tightness," he said, "I told the physio, and as a precaution he said they'd take me off.
"It was more to make sure no further damage was done. I feel ok now and I'm positive it's not serious and that I'll be ok for the weekend."
